Hand-held convenience in a complete, powerful system. The Rover incorporates an unprecedented collection of advanced technologies into a single portable system. The Rover is a compact high-resolution spectroscopy system using a thermoelectrically cooled CZT detector and state-of-the-art analog and digital electronics. The Rover is a culmination of Amptek's capabilities, which produced the R & D 100 Award winning XR-100 detector that successfully took spectra on the surface of Mars during the Pathfinder Mission.Amptek's powerful "Pocket MCA" processes information from the probe, while the HP200LX palm-top computer provides the display and control. A single camcorder battery powers the entire system for 12 hours. The Rover is offered with a standard 3x3x2 mm3 or 5x5x2 mm3 CZT detector. For performance details of the system please see specifications for the XR-100T-CZT and MCA8000A. The Rover is also available with a Si-PIN detector for X-Ray Spectroscopy (7 or 13 mm2 XR-100CR type detector) and a NaI probe for efficient Gamma-Ray detection. |
