Fields of
Application
The device has been designed for the
detection of defects at tubes as well as at domestic and laboratory
glass.
Tasks
- Detection of visual defects, such
as bubbles, stones, knots, air lines
- Graphic display of the frequency
distribution of defects
- Automatic selection of articles
having too large defects
Structure and
Measuring Principle
The article to be tested is moved
between an illumination unit and a CCD-row camera. The images are
evaluated in an image processing computer. If hollow glass is
concerned, the device can be placed beside the production line. The
articles to be tested are taken from the conveyor belt, fixed and
rotated in front of the camera. At tubing lines two cameras at least
are used which check the tube continuously.
Evaluation
The test results are transferred to a
main computer. By means of a real-time and multitask software the
trends of the frequency distribution are displayed. In this way the
operating personnel will get a fast and concentrated survey about the
test results.
