@Measuring Hardness with Ultrasonic

"SONOHARD"is an ultrasonic hardness tester working on quite a different principle from conventional hardness tester. In the conventional method, the diameter or depth of an indentation on a specimen is measured by a microscope. The "SONOHARD"gives the indentor rod longitudinal vibration to measure hardness electrically and indicate the measurement on the meter.
Kawatetsu Advantech who has offered this kind of device for about 25 years and now presents this new fruit of most advanced technology with confidence.
Reasonable price, high reliability, operability and stability-all result in the customer's use at ease.

Features
1. Compact size for site use
Approximate 1 kg and 400g for main frame and probe respectively, being able to carry it whenever and wherever.
2. Direct-reading of hardness by digital display
Digital display for quick evaluation and precision readout is simply provided.
3. Plural scales in one body
One of two scales (SH-6 & SH-5) or one of four scales (SH-75)
4. Very small indentation
An ultrasonic vibration rod picks up exactly a very small indentation as variation of resonance frequency. Pressing with 20N test load.
5. High potential to multifarious usage
By applying attachment to probe or the stand, as necessary, it can be used for a plane or curved surface of large or small size parts.
6. Multi direction applicability
The probe can be applied to the test specimen not only from above but also from the side and even from below.
7. SH-6A,
Quickly operated and evaluated by manual probe.
8. SH-5A,
Easily operated by motorizing the mechanism to impose measuring load, while conventional portable hardness testers require experienced operators.
9. SH-75, (motorized probe)
Displays hardness value in a digital form, compares the value with the upper and lower limits preset with digital switches to output the result, and computes the average and standard deviation of the values. SH-75 is high ability model of SONOHARD series, equipped with microcomputer and output function to printer and personal computer to mate with broader applications by RS-232C.
10. Memory function, (SH-75)
Data memory max. 4000 points of measured values and max. 10 measured calibration values can be stored in a calibration memory table and can be recalled at any time
11. Language selection (SH-75)
English displays are standard, however German displays are available instead of English. (factory modification)
