ISI demonstrates 160 X 120 microbolometer camera
Over the past two years Infrared Solutiions has been developing a 160 X 120 microbolometer infrared imager under an SBIR contract. The camera has been operational since March 1999 and the company is very pleased with its performance. Steps are being taken to begin building these infrared imagers in production quantities. Key production design specifications include:
  • 160 X 120 pixel microbolometer focal plane array with CMOS readout integrated circuit (ROIC)
  • 50 µm square pixels
  • 8 to 14 µm infrared wavelength band
  • NETD <0.1°C
  • Wide dynamic range
  • Power input 6.5 - 24 VDC, <4W with shutter open
  • <8.0 oz. (engine only)
  • 3.0 X 3.0 X 2.75 in. (W x H x D, engine only)
  • NTSC 6-bit video output with pseudo-color palettes
  • RS-232 communications interface

A substantial number of arrays are immediately available for production. The company is finalizing its production ready electronics based on its proven design. Certain proprietary technical advances allow the imager to be very stable, small in size, and operate on low power. Infrared Solutions is actively seeking a partner(s) in its commercialization efforts. These infrared imagers are expected to be very competitively priced. Any interested partners should contact the company.

SnapView/Pro version 2.0.1 software now available
New versions of SnapView and SnapView Pro software are now available. Both versions have been updated to automatically generate Word 97 format reports. Reports are template based, with several sample templates included. Customers can modify the included templates or define their own to create customized reports. In order to use the new feature, the customer must have Microsoft Word 97 installed on their machine. Upgrades are free to existing customers. Files may be downloaded from the ISI download page.
