PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Introducing upi-50/SW
The upi-50/SW Series ultrasonic instrument provides the automotive industry with an easy-to-use, reliable means of inspecting and evaluating spot welds during production. Developed in cooperation with the automobile industry, the upi-50/SW makes use of many of the outstanding features of the upi-50 1 ultrasonic instrument and application-oriented hardware and software tools.

Transducers
A family of specialty transducers for different part geometries and thickness2. Optional FFT package for transducer characterization.
Set-up and storage
Virtually unlimited hard-disk storage capacity of ultrasonic set-up files for different material and welding parameters. Instantaneous recall of any set-up file. Intuitive screen dialog boxes for entry of part data, operator information and parameters for spot weld evaluation and defect classification.
Inspection technique
GO/NOGO decision making with automatic A-scan signal capture on the screen display. Optional defect classification (e.g. cold weld, cladding, burnt weld, no weld, small nugget) according to pre-set parameters specified for the part type and welding conditions.
Inspection report
On-line inspection reports listing the test sequence, inspection decision and defect type as well as statistical data.
Inspection database
Optional tools for preparation of inspection set-up files for different parts and spot welds.
Remote control
Optional hand-held remote control unit for operation of key functions (e.g gain, signal capture and storage, GO/NOGO decision making).
Off-line data analysis
Multiple evaluation stations connected by LAN to individual instruments (optional)
System access control
Programmable security levels for authorized system access.
